Long Beach Girl Scout Troop 71053 held a stuffed animal sale, not only passing along their excess stuffies to happy new owners, but also helping us clear our inventory of clean, cuddly toys.
They earned $470 which we will donate to Children's Hospital LA for their initiatives in research and treatment in Ophthalmology (eyes) and Pulmonology (lungs). The stuffies that remained were taken by an organization
that distributes toys to children in need in
the Philippines and Vietnam.
The girls have managed to help a lot of children far and wide, and they have given new purpose to items that might have been thrown into landfill. We are very appreciative of the hard work and thoughtfulness of the members and leaders of Troop 71053!
